Maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures.<br> <br><br><br> <br>Demonstrates an understanding of radiation dose reference levels, radiation dose monitoring, actions to be taken if the estimated dose exceeds set dose reference levels, and actions to be taken for cases when the reference level was exceeded which may include patient follow-up.<br> <br><br><br> <br>Demonstrates and understands proper use of iSTAT point of care testing for obtaining creatinine levels.<br> <br><br><br> <br>Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to: identify patient service requirements, ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others. Communicates clearly and calmly with patients and their family regarding the test to be performed and assesses patient's ability to tolerate exam.<br> <br><br><br> <br>Prepares patient and area for procedure by positioning patient, utilizing immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position, while using appropriate settings and exposure factors.<br> <br><br><br> <br>Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques. Uses proper sterile techniques when preparing and performing invasive multimodality procedures and maintains hand hygiene requirements.<br> <br><br><br> <br>Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. Reports issues to management or appropriate department. Assists in maintaining supplies inventory. Willing to cross-train IR tech.<br> <br><br><br> <br>Job Summary<br> <br>The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, under general supervision, helps Physicians during catheterization and electrophysiology lab procedures. Prepares room and equipment, instructs patients, monitors patient's condition, and provides routine and emergency care during procedures. Contributes to the orientation and training of other team members. Helps in daily, monthly, and quarterly quality control initiatives through auditing and reporting.<br> <br>Essential Functions of the Role<br> <ul><li>Helps Physicians with arteriograms/catheterizations, permanent pacemaker implantations, implantable cardiac defibrillators, diagnostic and interventional, peripheral and coronary, interventional and thrombolytic therapy.</li><li>Follows national and state radiation protection regulations for patients, self, and staff. Provides emergency procedures like CPR and defibrillation as needed.</li><li>Performs pre and post-procedure care and monitoring.</li><li>Orients patients for catheterization or electrophysiology procedures.</li><li>Answers related questions to make patient relaxed.</li><li>Monitors patientâs ECG, pressures, temperature and impendences while in Electrophysiology Lab; notifies physician of variances.</li><li>Helps in running RF/Cryo ablation systems, 3D mapping, and records other procedural documentation.</li><li>Manages and maintains images that may include stenosis testing, formatting and processing on both cardiac and peripheral cases.</li><li>Helps in procedure rooms and collects registry and quality data on appropriate forms.</li><li>Gathers catheterization data and prepares procedure reports.</li><li>Prepares and maintains sterile fields for Lab procedures.</li><li>Orders and maintains inventory of procedure room supplies.</li><li>Ensures procedure rooms are adequately stocked and equipment has not expired.</li><li>Coordinates and/or audits resources during yearly inventories.</li><li>Performs routine calibration and maintenance of complex equipment; notifies appropriate team members for fixes.</li><li>Help in the orientation and training of new staff and students or extra duties as established by supervisor/manager.</li><li>Oversees some level of quality control monitoring, such as NPSG auditing, turnaround times, performance improvement initiatives. (Daily, monthly and/or quarterly).</li><li>Participates in mutual governance, department, hospital, or professional organizations and committees. This includes LEAN initiatives, NOBLE, 5S projects, inter-departmental committees, professional organization participation, and QC assurance with managers.</li><li>Oversees the committee as requested.</li><li>Transports patients to and from procedural area.</li><li>Demonstrates good customer service skills.</li></ul><br>Key Success Factors<br> <ul><li>Education and/or Experience requirements (must meet one of the following): - Associate's degree in a related field, or - Completion of US military training program and experience equivalent to an Associate's degree, or - 2 years of related cardiovascular lab experience.</li><li>Must be available for On Call response requirements per facility/department policy.</li><li>Knowledge and ability to apply complex invasive cardiac and vascular values, instrumentation and techniques.</li><li>Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.</li></ul><br><br><br> <br>QUALIFICATIONS<br> <br><br><br> <br>&nbsp;EDUCATION - Have earned a minimum of an associate degree - & must Hold an RT (R) or RCIS (Reg Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist), or ARRT-R Radiography or a imaging credential.<br> <br><br><br> <br>- EXPERIENCE: 2 years Cath, EP, or Vascular experience preferred.             <description><![CDATA[<br>Prestigious Hospital&nbsp;is seeking a full-time, team-oriented&nbsp;<strong>Certified&nbsp;Medical Physicist (Ph.D or M.S.)</strong>&nbsp;to join their regional group of six radiation oncology centers&nbsp;<strong>located in the Dallas metroplex</strong>. <strong><u>.</u></strong>&nbsp;The successful candidate&nbsp;should have a current ABR certification or in the process of obtaining certification, eligible for a Texas state license for medical physics and have working experience in a clinical environment.<br> <br><br><br> <br><strong>Facilities and Equipment:</strong><br> <br><br><br> <br>The&nbsp;<strong>Cancer Center location</strong>&nbsp;is a busy practice that provides a full range of radiation therapy procedures, including SRS, SBRT, TBI, TSET, HDR, LDR (prostate seed implants) and radiopharmaceuticals (Xofigo and Lutathera). Equipment in use at this location includes a Varian TrueBeam, 2 Varian Clinacs (Novalis TX and 21iX), GE CT, Bravos HDR afterloader, Mosaiq R&V, Eclipse, iPlan, MME, BrachyVision and VariSeed TPS. The fully staffed team includes 3 Radiation Oncologists, 3 ABR Certified physicists, 3 Certified Medical dosimetrists, 7 Radiation Therapists and 1 Chief Therapist.<br> <br><br><br> <br>This practice site&nbsp;is part of the Dallas region which consists of&nbsp;6 radiation oncology centers supported by a total of 10 Medical Physicists and 10 Radiation Oncologists. While each center is operationally independent, the physics staff collaborate on special projects and assist each other as needed; coordinated by a regional Chief Physicist.&nbsp;In addition to external beam therapy (3D, IMRT and VMAT), there are active SBRT programs at 5 centers, HDR programs at 5 centers, TBI programs at 2 centers, radiopharmaceuticals at 3 centers, a CyberKnife program at 1 location and a CAMPEP accredited physics residency program based at 1 location.<br> <br><br><br> <br><strong>Responsibilities</strong><br> <br><br><br> <br><strong>Preferred Experience:</strong><br> <ul><li>Working knowledge of Varian linear accelerators as well as Varian Bravos HDR afterloader</li><li>Working knowledge of Eclipse and BrainLab TPS</li><li>A working knowledge of MOSAIQ Record and Verify system.             <description><![CDATA[<br>Our client is seeking a full-time<strong>&nbsp;Certified Medical Physicist (Ph.D or M.S.)&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong>to join a group of five radiation oncology centers located in the&nbsp;<strong>North Dallas Region</strong>&nbsp;this position is housed at the Texas Oncology clinic in<strong>&nbsp;Flower Mound, Texas</strong>.&nbsp;<br> <br>While operationally independent day-to-day, each center collaborates as five fully staffed, clinics in the North Dallas area (McKinney, Plano, Denison, Denton, and Flower Mound) through sharing of a common, single ARIA database for record and verify, Eclipse Planning System, (conventional and SRS/SBRT), Rad Calc 2nd check program, Profiler, SNC Physics Software, and 3D scanning system.<br> <br><br><br> <br>We have the following treatment and imaging equipment: Six Varian linacs, two Elekta Nucletron HDRs, three Nucletron Flexitron HDR, five GE CTs, one PET/CT and a mobile PET/CT are used to treat an average of 160-170 patients a day at the five sites.<br> <br><br><br> <br><strong>The Team:</strong><br> <br>Combined, the fully staffed region will consist of five board certified radiation oncologists, seven ABR certified physicists, 1 non-certified medical physicist, seven certified medical dosimetrists, and five chief therapists.<br> <br><br><br> <br><strong>The essential duties and responsibilities:</strong><br> <ul><li>Full range of on-site clinical medical physics support to include HDR, SRS, SBRT.</li><li>Support and participate in physics support for the North Dallas Region</li><li>Occasionally, as needed, travel to sites within the region for on-site physics support</li><li>Determines the need for, specifies, and accesses dosimetric and treatment planning equipment including, but not limited to, measurement instruments to calibrate all treatment equipment and monitoring devices, computerized treatment planning systems, computerized water phantom systems with appropriate ionization chambers and diodes, etc.</li><li>Advises and consults with physicians to provide advice or direction to technical staff when patients are being planned or treated.</li></ul><br>&nbsp;<br> <br><br><br> <br><strong>Qualifications</strong><br> <br><br><br> <br><strong>Desired Skills and Qualifications:</strong><br> <ul><li>Applicants must have a Masterâs degree or PhD in Physics or Medical Physics from an accredited college or university.&nbsp;</li><li>Must be ABR certified, or have completed a CAMPEP approved residency and be board eligible, and have working experience in a clinical environment.&nbsp;</li><li>Texas Medical Board license required or must be obtained.</li></ul><br><br><br> ]]></description>

Instructs and communicates with patients and their family regarding the test to be performed and assesses patient's ability to tolerate exam.</li><li>Prepares patient and area for procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.</li><li>Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols and techniques. Uses proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing invasive multimodality procedures and maintains hand hygiene requirements.</li><li>Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. Reports issues to management or appropriate department.
