Maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures.<br> <br><br><br> <br>Demonstrates an understanding of radiation dose reference levels, radiation dose monitoring, actions to be taken if the estimated dose exceeds set dose reference levels, and actions to be taken for cases when the reference level was exceeded which may include patient follow-up.<br> <br><br><br> <br>Demonstrates and understands proper use of iSTAT point of care testing for obtaining creatinine levels.<br> <br><br><br> <br>Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to: identify patient service requirements, ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others. Communicates clearly and calmly with patients and their family regarding the test to be performed and assesses patient's ability to tolerate exam.<br> <br><br><br> <br>Prepares patient and area for procedure by positioning patient, utilizing immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position, while using appropriate settings and exposure factors.<br> <br><br><br> <br>Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques. Uses proper sterile techniques when preparing and performing invasive multimodality procedures and maintains hand hygiene requirements.<br> <br><br><br> <br>Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. Reports issues to management or appropriate department. Assists in maintaining supplies inventory. These include transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress tests for adults. These tests help diagnose and assess cardiac abnormalities. General duties include preparing equipment, prepping patients, and explaining procedures. They also review images, report findings, and evaluate patient history. This helps identify the purpose of the examination. They frame the clinical question the exam should answer and expand the exam as needed.<br> <br><br><br> <br>Essential Functions of the Role<br> <ul><li>Prepare patients for procedures and obtain their clinical history. Include cardiac-related physical findings and pertinent laboratory data. Adapt imaging techniques to obtain comprehensive and diagnostic echocardiograms. This helps reduce the chance of incorrect clinical interpretation.</li><li>Perform basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures using various equipment and techniques. Make necessary measurements for accurate, high-quality results.</li><li>Identify and define cardiac abnormalities. Extend the examination scope as needed. Deviate from standard techniques when necessary. Correlate invasive and noninvasive cardiac test results with cardiac anatomy and function.</li><li>May assist physicians in procedure and operating rooms by performing echocardiograph studies. This aids them in proceeding with complex procedures to decrease risk factors.</li><li>Assist in performing transesophageal studies with cardiologist, calculating appropriate measurements and sterilizing probe.</li><li>Record statistics and perform daily maintenance of the Echocardiography Lab and its equipment, reporting all malfunctions as appropriate.</li><li>Act as a resource to other staff, physicians, and students regarding equipment, techniques, procedures, and studies to optimize patient care.</li><li>Work closely with the cardiac sonographer quality coordinator to ensure adherence to quality processes and protocols. Call includes weekends and holidays<br> <br><br><br> <br>Job Summary<br> <br>The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, under general supervision, helps Physicians during catheterization and electrophysiology lab procedures. Prepares room and equipment, instructs patients, monitors patient's condition, and provides routine and emergency care during procedures. Contributes to the orientation and training of other team members. Helps in daily, monthly, and quarterly quality control initiatives through auditing and reporting.<br> <br>Essential Functions of the Role<br> <ul><li>Helps Physicians with arteriograms/catheterizations, permanent pacemaker implantations, implantable cardiac defibrillators, diagnostic and interventional, peripheral and coronary, interventional and thrombolytic therapy.</li><li>Follows national and state radiation protection regulations for patients, self, and staff. Provides emergency procedures like CPR and defibrillation as needed.</li><li>Performs pre and post-procedure care and monitoring.</li><li>Orients patients for catheterization or electrophysiology procedures.</li><li>Answers related questions to make patient relaxed.</li><li>Monitors patientâs ECG, pressures, temperature and impendences while in Electrophysiology Lab; notifies physician of variances.</li><li>Helps in running RF/Cryo ablation systems, 3D mapping, and records other procedural documentation.</li><li>Manages and maintains images that may include stenosis testing, formatting and processing on both cardiac and peripheral cases.</li><li>Helps in procedure rooms and collects registry and quality data on appropriate forms.</li><li>Gathers catheterization data and prepares procedure reports.</li><li>Prepares and maintains sterile fields for Lab procedures.</li><li>Orders and maintains inventory of procedure room supplies.</li><li>Ensures procedure rooms are adequately stocked and equipment has not expired.</li><li>Coordinates and/or audits resources during yearly inventories.</li><li>Performs routine calibration and maintenance of complex equipment; notifies appropriate team members for fixes.</li><li>Help in the orientation and training of new staff and students or extra duties as established by supervisor/manager.</li><li>Oversees some level of quality control monitoring, such as NPSG auditing, turnaround times, performance improvement initiatives. The Radiologic Technologist provides skill and initiative to the department mission through interactions with staff, Chief Technologist and others as necessary. <br> <br><br><br> <br><strong>Position: Radiologic Technologist&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong><br> <br><strong>Department: Diagnostic</strong><br> <br><strong>Schedule: Part Time, 32 Hours</strong><br> <br><br><br> <br><strong>&#xFEFF;JOB REQUIREMENTS</strong><br> <br><br><br> <br><strong>EDUCATION:</strong><br> <ul><li>Completion of two years post-high school training in an approved school of Radiologic Technology.</li></ul><br><br><br> <br><strong>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED</strong>:<br> <ul><li>State license required and all applicable radiology education requirements.</li><li>RTR and ARRT required.&nbsp;</li></ul><br><br><br> <br><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong><br> <ul><li>1-4 years' experience preferred.</li></ul><br><br><br> <br><strong>KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:</strong><br> <ul><li>Requires knowledge of principles and procedures of diagnostic radiology practices and the operation and maintenance of Radiologic equipment.</li><li>Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients and all/any apprehensions, to instruct students and to provide technical supervision to staff technologists.&#x200B;</li></ul><br><br><br> ]]></description>
