• Responsibilities*
• Perform imaging procedures that meet the quality expectations of the referring physician and radiologist through following orders and protocols as established.
• Understand and implement all policies and procedures which include daily quality control, equipment operations, exam procedures, radiation safety, calibrating and transporting isotope (when necessary) and ordering doses appropriately.
• Insert intra-catheter needle accurately (following procedure) while maintaining aseptic conditions.
• Administer prescribed isotopes and pharmaceuticals per standards and guidelines.
• Maintain all federal, state, local, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure patient safety while providing high quality testing.
• Perform daily quality control checks and calibrations on camera; complete required NRC/State documentation.
• Follow radiation safety policies and NRC/State guidelines for handling of radioactive pharmaceuticals, including but not limited to conducting daily surveys of hot lab, exam room, camera, and personnel.
• Successfully document testing results, patient medical history using EMR, additional administrative documentation may be required.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to providing consistent, excellent customer service.
• Travel to client sites as scheduled, sites may vary daily/weekly depending on assignment.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
• Associate’s degree or equivalent certification from an approved program.
• CNMT (NM or PET) or ARRT(N) Certification.
• BLS Certification.
• If applicable, a state licensure in good standing.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to push/pull heavy medical equipment. Working Conditions:
• Work is performed at outpatient testing centers, hospitals, clinics, and/or physician office settings with moderate to high patient volume. Technologist must travel in all weather conditions.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to stand for periods of time.
• Walking, stooping, turning, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Occupational Exposure:
There is limited radiation exposure during nuclear medicine procedures when proper protocol is followed. Performance of clinical job duties has a reasonable anticipated risk factor of occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens or other infectious materials. Employees are required to use protective equipment.
