Summary
The Radiation Therapist simulates and provides radiation oncology treatments to patients according to the plan prescribed. The Radiation Therapist is also responsible for the safety of the patients, for observing and documenting any reactions to treatment, updating charts and answering any radiology related questions the patients might have. It is also the duty of a Radiation Therapist to maintain equipment and follow all safety regulations regarding radiation exposure. This position also reinforces and adheres to the core values of the company in order to achieve the mission and vision.

Job Responsibilities
  • Safely provides the correct radiotherapy treatment to patients.
  • Operates the medical equipment used for radiotherapy.
  • Ensures that the medical equipment is regularly maintained and in excellent working order.
  • Maintains accurate records of a patient’s treatment regimen.
  • Discusses various treatment plans with the patient developed in partnership with clinical oncologists and physicians.
  • Participates in departmental performance improvement activities.
  • Routinely cleans patient treatment area.
  • Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Radiation oncology certificate and associate degree in radiation therapy technology.
  • Certified ARRT in radiation therapy (RT(T)).
  • CA Licensed.
  • Basic life support
