Job description
The physicist supports all radiation therapy physics activities including clinical, quality assurance, safety, and equipment maintenance, by performing both routine and non-routine support tasks under the general guidance using the concepts and techniques of applying physics to medicine and practical training of a medical physicist.
The individual should be competent to practice medical imaging physics and maintain the professional skills through continuing education. The individual shall be available when necessary for consultation with the radiation Oncologist and to provide advice and direction.
Job Responsibilities
1) Participation in routine and non-routine clinical service for external beams; Perform 3D and IMRT/VMAT/SRS/SBRT treatment planning, double check calculation, treatment plan review, treatment chart and R&V review and weekly chart review
2) Participation of routine and non-routine clinical service for brachytherapy. Participate HDR planning, treatment, and QA, and radiation safety.
3) Participate in equipment maintenance and calibration of radiation therapy equipment.
4) Additional responsibilities in support of the Chief Physicist as required.
Work Experience and Skills
Any experience is preferred but we would train any Board eligible medical physicist.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of staff.
