Travel Cath Lab Tech

Location: Silver Spring, MD

Duration: 13-week assignment (with potential extension)

Shift: 3x12s, 7am - 7:30pm, One call weekend a month




Pay Package: 

Taxable Wages - $648

Nontaxable weekly stipend - $1,800

Gross Weekly Pay (Based on 36 hours) - $2448




A Cath Lab Technician, also known as a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist, has a variety of responsibilities and qualifications. Here are some key points:

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct patient care to individuals with implanted cardiac devices.
  • Provides diagnostic evaluation of patients’ cardiac rhythm.
  • Assists in triple lumen catheter placement.
  • Performs lab administrative duties and supply inventory.
  • Participates in an environment that ensures quality work, group morale, and maintains effective lines of communication.
  • Assists physicians in cases of adverse reaction or in acute emergencies as necessary.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency codes, location of emergency equipment, and method of activation.

The Cath Lab Technician may also assist the Cardiologist or Electrophysiologist with providing cardiac patient careThey perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations and other related proceduresThey also insert small catheters through a needle into the blood vessels and into the heart so that X-rays, angiograms, and other recordings can be taken to determine the heart’s structure and function.




Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate and Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Cardiovascular Technology, Technical, Nursing, Health, Natural Science, Engineering, Associates, Graduate, Radiology.
  • Licensing or Certifications: ACLS, BLS, RCISARRT, CPR, EKG, IABP, PALS.
  • Skills: Principles of radiographic imaging, cardiac anatomy & physiology, patient physiologic monitoring and cardiac arrhythmias recognition, human growth and development, proper sterile technique.
